1 killed in collision with tractor-trailer on Highway 193 [Monterey County, CA]

Vehicle crash on Cooper Road leaves one dead

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (June 6, 2022) – On Wednesday, a collision with a tractor-trailer on Route 193 killed an unidentified person.

The accident happened at 1 a.m. along Highway 193 southbound, north of Cooper Road.

According to reports, a semi-truck collided head-on with a Ford Mustang under unknown circumstances.

Eventually, when first responders arrived, they found the Ford engulfed in flames as it was pinned under the tractor-trailer.

Additionally, authorities said one person tragically died as a result of the accident, although it is not known whether the victim died at the scene or in hospital.

Authorities are investigating whether impairment was a possible cause of the accident. However, an active investigation is still ongoing.
