Collision of three lorries on M6 in Cheshire leads to long delays
An accident involving three lorries on the M6 in Cheshire caused long delays this morning.
The crash happened on the southbound carriageway between Junction 19 (Knutsford) and Junction 18 (Middlewich/Holmes Chapel).
Two of the four lanes were closed, with motorists facing delays of more than an hour while recovery operations were in place.

The North West Ambulance Service confirmed that one person had been injured, but then described them as ‘walking injured’.
Northwest National Highways reported approximately up to eight miles of congestion during the incident.
The incident was reported around 6:13 a.m. this morning.
National Highways tweeted: ” #Cheshire please note that lanes 1 and 2 (of 4) are currently closed on the #M6 direction south between J19 & J18 nearby #Northwich #Knutsford due to a collision.
“There is currently approximately 5 miles of congestion on the approach, adding at least 45 minutes to travel times. Please plan ahead.”
Traffic analysis software Inrix reported: “Two lane closures and long delays due to accident, three lorries involved on the southbound M6 between J19 A556 (Knutsford) and J18 A54 Middlewich Road (Middlewich / Holmes Chapel) .
