Delaware State Police investigate serious collision in Lincoln area – Delaware State Police

On November 23, 2022, at approximately 8:10 p.m., a 2005 Honda Civic was traveling northbound on North Old State Road south of Haflinger Road at high speed. The driver lost control of the vehicle and left the east side of the roadway. The vehicle then struck a Delmarva Power utility pole.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from Houston, Delaware, was not wearing a seat belt during the collision. He was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. An 18-year-old passenger from Houston, Delaware was wearing a seat belt during the crash. He was transported to an area hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while the collision was investigated and cleared.

The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this incident. Soldiers are asking anyone with information regarding this collision to contact Master Corporal R. Albert at 302-703-3266.
