Duchesne County Jeep Collision Kills Biker

DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah – A motorcyclist was killed Thursday morning in a collision on State Route 87 in Duchesne County.

The crash occurred, according to the Utah Department of Public Safety, around 7:55 a.m. when a Jeep Grand Cherokee heading west on the state highway veered left into the lane toward is, attempting to enter the driveway of a business located on the road.

The UDPS report indicates that the driver of the Cherokee did not yield to the oncoming motorcycle.

The man driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was not injured.

The commercial driveway is at or near mile post 37 on the road on a long straight stretch of road near its connection to US 191, 7 miles west of Roosevelt and just east of is from Ioke, Utah. The motorcycle involved was a red 1991 Harley Davidson.

The road was closed for about four hours for an investigation into the accident. The DPS report did not identify either the victim or the driver of the Jeep.
