Four people were taken to hospital after being injured in a suspected impaired collision Friday morning Sept. 30, 2022 in Merced, Calif., police say.

Four people were injured, including two minors, in a suspected impaired collision Friday morning in Merced, police said.
Merced Police Department officers and other emergency personnel responded at 10:04 a.m. at the 300 block of South Parsons Avenue near the Grove Apartments. for a frontal collisionaccording to a post on social media by the department.
Patricia Garrett, 24, of Merced, was driving a 1989 Chevy pickup truck south on South Parsons while allegedly under the influence of fentanyl, police say.
Garrett veered into oncoming traffic and hit a northbound white 2009 Dodge Charger driven by a 41-year-old man.
Three people aboard the Charger were seriously injured and were taken to area hospitals.
Garrett also went to the hospital and was later arrested on suspicion of impaired driving causing injury and other charges. Garrett’s bail was set at $162,191, according to prison records.
