Hockey Roundup: Fergus Falls Knocks Down Willmar Girls – The Rink Live

FERGUS FALLS — The state-ranked Fergus Falls women’s hockey team edged Willmar 4-3 Thursday night at the Fergus Falls Ice Arena.

Fergus Falls, ranked seventh in Class A, leads the Central Lakes Conference with an 8-2 record and a 17-4 record overall. Willmar fell to 3-9 in the CLC and 13-12 overall.

Willmar will head to the Section 6A playoffs next week.

Alexandria 6, River Lakes 2

Riley Nyberg scored twice to help Alexandria beat River Lakes at Runestone Community Center in Alexandria.

The Cardinals are now 8-4 in the Central Lakes Conference and River Lakes are 3-8.

The Stars got goals from Jordyn Bebus and Sophia Hess.

River Lakes ends the regular season playing St. Cloud at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in Richmond.

Fergus Falls extended his record to 14-6 with the win over Willmar at the Willmar Civic Center.

Willmar, 4-14, plays Redwood Valley at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Redwood Falls.

State-ranked Little Falls overcame a 1-0 first-period deficit to beat River Lakes at Exchange Arena in Little Falls.

Blake Schultz opened the scoring at 11:40, giving the Stars a 1-0 lead.

The Flyers went wild with four goals in the second period. Carter Oothoudt scored two of his third goals in the second period. George Moore also netted twice for eighth-placed Class A Little Falls.

Cole Pientka had the other goal for River Lakes.

The Stars play at 7:15 p.m. Friday against Mora/Milaca in Richmond.
