Paramus, New Jersey (March 09, 2022) – Four victims are in hospital after a multi-vehicle collision involving a dump truck that left debris, spilled gravel and liquid all over a snow-covered Highway 17 on Wednesday, March 9.
The overturned truck also pulled out part of the freeway divider in the accident which happened around 1:00 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Route 17 near Ridgewood Avenue in Paramus.
Three heavily damaged small vehicles had to be towed off the scene while responders called in heavy tow trucks to straighten the dump truck.
According to sources, some vehicles in the northbound lanes were struck by fragments of the bulkhead.
Three victims were transported to Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. A victim who sustained more serious injuries was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.
