Pickup truck collision kills scooter driver – Bronx Times
A scooter driver was killed on September 7, 2021, when he collided with a pickup truck at an intersection.

An out of control driver on a scooter was killed in a fatal collision with a car last Tuesday.
Police responded to a call from someone struck by a vehicle near East 188 Street and Lorillard Place, according to the NYPD on September 7 at 7:12 p.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a gasoline powered scooter was traveling eastbound on 188 Street East on the sidewalk as it approached the intersection at Place Lorillard. A second vehicle, a Ford Transit van, was traveling southbound on Lorillard Place, entered the intersection and was subsequently struck by the scooter.
The 38-year-old driver of the scooter was thrown on the road and then run over by the van. The driver of the scooter suffered severe trauma to his chest. He was transported to Saint-Barnabé hospital by the EMS, but was pronounced dead.
The 25-year-old driver of the van was uninjured and remained at the scene. The NYPD Collision Investigation Team is investigating.
The identity of the deceased is pending appropriate notification from the family.
