Police confirm four dead after single vehicle collision in Bedfordshire | UK News
Four people have died after a road collision involving a single vehicle in Bedfordshire in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police said the victims were confirmed as a result of “very complex work” by emergency services.
Officers were called at around 3:40 a.m. Sunday to report a serious collision with a single vehicle near the Flying Fox roundabout on the A5.
Emergency services responded after receiving reports that a car had fallen in a field near the village of Heath and Reach, near Leighton Buzzard.
Bedfordshire Police said a man traveling in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. On Monday, officers confirmed that three other people traveling in the car had also died.
Investigators are calling for witnesses with dashcam footage that may have information about the incident.
They said work at the scene is expected to continue until Tuesday.
Acting Sergeant David Burstow, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: ‘We are doing our job in a dignified and meticulous manner to establish what has happened. in this tragic and horrific incident.
âWe believe there were four people in the car who unfortunately died in the collision. Specially trained agents are reaching out to and providing support to their families, while forensic identification has yet to take place.
âAlthough we believe that no other vehicle was involved, our investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
âAt this point, we would like to reiterate the requests of the families concerned not to speculate on social media, but I would appreciate any information from witnesses or anyone else who could help us with our investigations.
“We would be particularly interested in hearing from anyone with a dash cam or CCTV footage who could assist us in our investigations.”
