Direct materials management has been a hot market for a few years now, and recent events that have led to supply chain disruptions have added to the focus on this part of an organization’s spend. Consequently, this has also drawn attention to solution providers with dedicated direct spend capabilities. Procurence, based in Poland, is one such provider. It currently offers an SxM solution which is rapidly expanding to cover other processes (sourcing, contract management, order collaboration, cost optimization). The Procurence (Meercat) solution provides customers with rich functionality to manage their suppliers and their risks, with a focus on procurement quality management and project-based procurement.

The company has its origins in the business side of things and consulting. Ten years ago, the founders evaluated midrange solutions and came to the conclusion that none of them were easy to use or quick to implement. Therefore, they launched Procurence to fill this gap and serve to foster communication and collaboration between an organization, its suppliers, and its customers.

Part 1 of this Spend Matters PRO Vendor Analysis 2022 update provides an overview of Procurence (Meercat) SxM solution based on our SolutionMap information. It also covers brand new features (not part of Solution Map as the offering was launched recently). We will also review competitors and offer technology selection advice. Then, in Part 2, we’ll look at the strengths and weaknesses of the solution, provide a detailed overview of each module, and an analyst’s summary.

The content for this 2-part series comes from briefs and demos provided to Spend Matters by Procurence.

Here’s why sourcing matters:

  • At the market — Procurence has deep capabilities to handle direct spend vendors that very few competitors are able to match, and it extends its coverage into more direct material areas.
  • To customers — Procurence customers benefit from a configurable solution that allows them to collaborate in an extended ecosystem (suppliers and customers).
  • To potential buyers — Procurence has solid management of direct material suppliers (quality). Its rich track record also makes it a valuable candidate to evaluate for organizations looking for a direct materials suite.

This Spend Matters PRO Vendor Analysis provides an overview of the vendor’s capabilities, its competitors, provides technology selection guidance, and concludes with key analyst takeaways.
