Two road crashes were reported Monday morning on Interstate 5 and Highway 7. Washington State Patrol was at the scene of the multiple-car collision near the Port of Tacoma on September 27, 2021.

Two road crashes were reported early Monday morning, causing delays for motorists heading to Tacoma and those traveling north out of the city.

Accidents have been reported on Interstate 5 northbound and Highway 7 toward downtown.

The first accident was reported around 5:40 a.m. on Highway 7 towards downtown. The Tacoma Fire Department has reported a collision with a single overturned car, according to a tweet from the Fire Department.

No injuries were reported. Firefighters have advised motorists to take alternative routes into the city.

The second accident was reported around 6 a.m. on Interstate 5 northbound near the Port of Tacoma. According to a tweet from the fire department, a multi-car collision was reported at the 136 A exit.

The collision blocked the two left lanes of traffic. No injuries were reported.
