Soldiers investigate fatal single vehicle collision – Milton – Delaware State Police
Milton, DE- Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal single-motor vehicle collision on Tuesday night in Milton.
At approximately 6:17 p.m. on September 14, 2021, a 2009 Jaguar XF driven by a 36-year-old man from Milton was driving eastbound on Cave Neck Road. For some unknown reason, the operator failed to maintain his taxiway and left the southern edge of the carriageway. After exiting the roadway, the front of the vehicle struck a traffic sign along a private driveway. He then continued on his way south before the right front hit a utility pole. The force of the impact caused the Jaguar to rotate clockwise and tip over.
The operator was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. He was transported from the scene of the accident to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The roadway was closed for approximately six hours during the accident investigation and the roadway was cleared.
This collision is still under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit. Anyone with information regarding this accident should contact Sgt.
