Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a single motor vehicle collision in Kitchener

Region of Waterloo, Ontario – Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service Central Neighborhood Policing Division continue to investigate a single motor vehicle collision in Kitchener.

On April 20, 2022, at approximately 5:10 p.m., emergency services responded to the area of ​​Pioneer Drive and Old Carriage Drive to report a collision.

During the initial investigation, it was determined that a driver of a blue Honda lost control while exiting a parking lot on Pioneer Drive. The driver then crossed Pioneer Drive and entered Southwest Optimist Sports Field. The driver continued into the park and struck a park bench and playground, causing significant damage.

No physical injuries have been reported as a result of this incident.

A 34-year-old man from Whitby has been charged with careless driving.

The investigation is ongoing.
